Department Profile

The Department of Mathematics was started in the year 1964.

B.Sc (Mathematics) was started in 1964.

M.Sc (Mathematics) in 1971.

Autonomous status was conferred for B.Sc. in the year 1981-82.

Autonomous status was conferred for M.Sc. in the year 1995-96.

At present the Department offers B.Sc, M.Sc. M.Phil (FT & PT) and PhD (FT & PT) degrees in Mathematics and it is a full-fledged post graduate and research Department.

The Department concentrates on research areas like Differential Equations, Fluid Dynamics and Fuzzy Differential Equations etc.,

The Department conducted 3 UGC sponsored National seminars, 2 State level seminars and 8 Inter Collegiate Mathematical Meets (SOLSTICE).

Two Minor Research Projects were completed.

An All India Educational Tour is organized every year for the outgoing students.

The Department offers special coaching classes for SET / NET exams and conducts remedial classes for weaker students.
