Assessment Procedure

  1. The complete academic performance of a student is evaluated by Internal and External Examiners.
  2. In the case of practical / project work, an External Examiner shall be nominated for evaluation / viva voce.
  3. The student’s performance in each course, in general, is evaluated based on in-semester assessment and end semester examination.
  4. The in-semester assessment method is further detailed below:

Schedule for CIA Tests

 CIA test will be conducted on completion of every 50 days in the calendar of 90 working days. The Practical and model examinations will be conducted after completing 75 and 83 working days sequentially.

  • CIA practical test:

 For each practical, students will have one model practical examination. The marks obtained in the examination will be appropriately converted into marks for the CIA component of the practical.

  • Observation notebook maintenance & regularity:

The marks allotted for observation notebook maintenance & regularity is based on the performance of students in writing procedure, accuracy of the results, regularity in attending practical class, which will be accounted based on the attendance maintained separately for practical class, and punctuality in the submission of observation notebook.

  • Marks for Attendance (common for both Theory & Practical):

Every student should earn a minimum attendance of 75% to become eligible to appear for End-of-Semester examinations. The 5 marks allotted to this components under CIA of theory and practical will be awarded as given hereunder.
