Income Tax Day

In order to enrich the student’s knowledge in the curriculum, we have organised an activity on July 24. It is a milestone in India’s fiscal history, and the day is marked as National Income Tax Day. Based on this day, the Department of Commerce (CA) and Commerce (PA) conducted the Co-operative and Experiential Learning activity in the course Income Tax. It started with a small introduction about income tax day. For this activity, six students from II B.Com CA and six students from II B.Com PA exhibited information about income tax in a chart drawing i.e., Heads of Income, old and New Slab Rates, Deductions and it was explained to the first year B.Com CA and second year B.Com PA students after that Google Form was used to compute the taxable salary and tax payable amount from their observations, and finally the participants computed their taxable amount. Dr.K.Kandappan, Dean, Students Support Service, our college, visited and encouraged the students. Dr.P.Kuppuraj, Head of the Department, and Sri.R.Jaganath, Assistant Professor of the department conducted the event. A total of 82 students benefited from this program.
