The Department of Chemistry was established with Pre-University course in 1964. The Undergraduate Programme in Chemistry was introduced in 1968, Postgraduate programme in 1979 and M.Phil., in 1987. The department has become full-fledged research department with the introduction of Ph.D., Programme in 1999. Since then it has been serving the student community with quality education. It has already completed five decades of useful service to the society in the field of Chemistry Education.
